Kayo Bracey

The native of Greensboro, NC dropped several mixtapes including “All Purple Everythang” which was downloaded over 150,000 times. He dropped another project the next year entitled “Momentum & Money”. Five songs on the project received FM radio airplay. He’s had several other projects including “Small Victories”, “Take the Stairs” and “More Stairs”.

Since the release of these projects, several more of Bracey’s music has been heard on FM Radio. In 2018, he got the opportunity to perform in Los Angeles at the BET Awards. He has graced the stage with some of hip-hop’s biggest names including: Wale, Big Daddy Kane, Cuban Doll, Gunplay, DJ Luke Nasty and many more.

Listen closely and you’ll realize there is something vaguely different about Kayo that separates him from most artist. He rarely If ever swears in his music, nor does he promote negatively. You can also hear his faith in God in his music. In a game where negativity and violence are glorified, it is refreshing to hear something different.

“I’m one of those people who have had to fight for every inch. No one has ever simply given me anything” Bracey exclaims. “I always had to take the long way, which made me stronger. That’s why I’m always talking about “Taking the Stairs”. The long way is fulfilling. There’s no shortcuts, use the stairs”. Bracey was recently selected as the 2018 Male Hip Hop Artist of The Year in NC.
