RUBA KPØ is a collective of producers and Djs, a four-headed hydra that patched things up in 2009 to turn everything upside down without worrying about labels. Indeed, Ruba is inspired by all genres, because "genres, labels and categories are neither important nor interesting; in the end, what matters is just the sound and the vibe ".
A first release on King Sound Music in 2013 was taking a first direction. It was followed by EPs and remixes on French, German and American labels such as Blacktambour, Expressillon Records, Doppel Ganger and Ultra Chic Records, as many attempt to break the lines.
Now based between Oslo and Nice, and signed on Sonar Kollektiv and RKRS Recordings, it's time for RUBA KPØ to drop the masks and break free.
RUBA have a weekly radioshow on Radio Nova Oslo every Saturday 6pm-8pm Paris-Oslo time for the last 3 years, and a monthly residency at Radio Meuh where everything is allowed.
And after having been playing around at festivals such as Worldwide Festival, Moga Festival Morocco, Crossover Festival French Riviera, Shapes Festival, Plages Electroniques French Riviera… , it was time to sit down in the studio and work on something new.
Finally RUBA is back with a new Live, mixing machines, turntables, live drummer and stunning visuals, stretching from rock to acid through house and bass… and more....more
