I write a little each day

Just to get my feelings straight

Just to give my feathers weight

Just to be here

If I fail then it's fine

I'm closer to a simple truth

I thought it out and there's the proof: There are pages of rages

But there they stay the healthy way

And why do I view my pursuits with a mocking disdain?

And the waves of self-doubt

Only failure

All the deadlines are mine

So therefore not a thing gets done

I'm lucky if I finish one; procrastinating and waiting

The critic's ear the coward's fear

Why would you see me I'm

One in a million standing here?

There's so many stormin' it's

Hard to stand out in the rain

So insecure that I'm sure

You've heard it all before

And all I can do is just

Try and avoid being plain

I know that it's hard to make habit

And I must admit I miss days

But I know my mood will be lighter

If I fill the page

Why would you see me I'm

One in a million standing here?

Hard to stand out in the rain
