This one's a song about my mum her name is Doris and uh

I just thought the last song should be about her so, enjoy it

Picture me turning three smiling happily

A young Wrecks cutting cake with the family

I had people in the back that I hardly remember

Like the ones you only text at the end of December

Picture me turning nine in the UK

Mum said when you go out put on a brave face

Cause I would run around the block with the neighbours kids

But never felt like I belonged it was a hit and miss

Picture me turning twelve coming back from school

Saw my mum in her room trynna play it cool

She had just strained her hip and she could barely move

But she would never let it show she was a soldier too

I can't tell you bout the pain months later finding out she fell on her hip in the bathroom

Ambulance, my dad rushing home from work

We would visit every week, on our way from church

She worked so hard

Never knew when it was hard in the house like

She was so good to us

It's crazy

A year later, discharged from the hospital

Doing physio, things were getting pretty comfortable

She started working, driving, assertive,

Mind you she's hurting, she was never the same

But you would never see it show she had a smile on her face

I was graduating school, everything was okay

I didn't know that all that time she was struggling with pain

I really feel that all the prayers that i said were in vain

I remember going school wiping tears from her eye

She couldn't even see me off I felt the pain when she cried

I was only fifteen and the future was bright

Really wish I had more time to hold her tight

Or at least have the chance just to say goodbye

Why'd my dad ever have to make that two hour drive

Just to tell me in my face that my mum didn't make it

See she fought with her heart, but the cancer really ate it

I don't understand why she had to go at the time that she did I was so young

And, I was fighting with everything

I was fighting myself, I was fighting God

I was fighting the people around me pushing them away and that but then

I'm beginning to understand now

There's a purpose for this

And I'm gonna find it

Bryan said that I should trust in the Lord

Why would I trust Him when all he did was a fraud

All the nights on my knees with my hands to the sky

What's the point if in the end I know she's still gonna die

What's the point if in the end we really don't make it out

Or that I try too hard, they can't figure me out

When I stand at the top and all I see are the clouds

And that girl on her knees, she's trying hard to please

Can't love I really feel that love was taken from me

So all the girls in my life, yeah they get disrespected

Can't be proud of that, I still aim at perfection
