In the beginning

Of the writing process

I hold infinity

In my hands, in my mind

There is every possibility in the world

But no concrete existence yet, only potential

And as soon as I grab hold of my pen

The neck of my guitar or my bass

As soon as I reach for my mouse and keyboard

The infinity of this nothingness

Is narrowed down, limited

And what I'm left with

After all other possibilities are discarded
