I ran and jumped into my mother's arms, a happy little boy

In all the world I was her love, her one and only joy

My childhood paintings proudly hung, my triumphs were acclaimed

My smiles and laughter, flowed so deep, deep within my soul

So I'll just wander, wander

Wander home

But I grew up in cold Michigan, a place I called my home

No matter what I said or did, I still felt all alone

My childhood snatched right out of my grasp, my love was not repaid

Out of the blue I now felt lost, my soul would have to wait
