There's A Boy

There's a boy sat outside my window

When he cries, only I can hear

As I pull him inside, to my room every night

I whisper, child, we don't do that here

Little girl stood still upon my mantle

Holds up the frame in which she stands

Smiles back through the glass, she waits till I pass

And then covers up her face with both hands

They all come at night when I'm dying to sleep

I'm taken hostage again by the weight of the sheets

Can you cut me free, or take my eyes at least
